We require customer-focused and commercially minded people with a successful track record of managing refurbishment contracts from £100,000 to £5,000,000 in value.

Candidates must have a sound quantity surveying background. Experience or an interest in contracts management would be an advantage.

Design Coordinator

Our client has a vacancy for an experienced design coordinator based at their joinery works in Kent. The role is to provide the full design coordination service on their installation contracts, this will include the production of working drawings and administration of contract documentation associated with the setting out function.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

To manage setting out and design coordination activities generally including:

Receiving handover information from estimating dept. on new contracts

Obtaining customer/architect design intent information

Liaison with client representatives to finalise design intent

Produce working drawings from design intent

Issue and administer all drawing approvals and construction issues

Prepare material cutting sheets for production

Co-ordination of drawings and assembly details with client;s site fixers.

Provide effective communication between all parties and feedback information to Contracts Manager.

Contracts Manager requirement
Due to the improved performance of the company, the board have begun to search for a Contracts Manager to work closely with the Directors. The Prerequisite experience is a high quality residential refurbishment background in addition to the following.

Strong communicative ability with exemplary client liaison skills is essential.
Strong financial acumen is essential.
Must be able to think laterally through problems.
Experience of managing direct labour is important. Our client employs 60-70 trades personnel continuously.
Strong design environment, strong labour force tackling glamorous end of the market.
Candidate with strong experience of projects at the sub £1million level would be of particular interest.
